Eighteen years ago you had a twinkle in your eyes, Mathata. Cat laughter, cat ideas, the hunter's look. Or the hunter's pride when you brought your catch into the house: mice, grasshoppers, lizards. (How those lizards could stink!) Your most triumphant look was when you managed to catch a snake. When the kids were ill, your look was worried and resolute: we could not get you off their beds. The nurse's look, we called it. But now, Mathata, you have the geriatric stare, and it is indelible.

Thank you so much, TheodoreH, Christianwicklein, Aremerollrahman, Kentaroo and everybody else. At present I feel like a patient in ICU... wanna be out of ICU! But ICU is the reality of deadlines for two manuscripts (in my other life I am an author). Hobbies on ice. Self-discipline. The life of a hermit as far as possible. If only all members of the family would agree to survive on bitter black coffee plus bread with peanut butter during this ICU period... I presume most of you know the feeling. I am inspired by your photographs and creativity, all of you. Thank you!
