Location
This was taken at the main building of the Hochschule für Bildende Künste (short HfBK, engl. Academy of Fine Arts) Dresden. Built on the Brühlsche Terrasse from 1887 to 1894 by Constantin Lipsius in the style of historicism it's most prominent features are the octagonal hall and the glass dome (today known as "lemon squeezer"). But as you can see even it's staircases have a very unique look.Time
I visited the HfBK for a summer fair/ vernissage on a still very sunny early evening.Lighting
Only the found/ natural light shining through the windows was used in this one.Equipment
I used my Canon IXUS 170. Nothing more.Inspiration
The rare form of the slightly oval winding stairs gives this almost topic perspective of shooting of a staircase from below a new unseen twist. Letting your fantasy fly you can even imagine this to be a giant snail shell...Editing
On this particular shot I didnt do any editing. I like the simplicity of form, reduced colour palet and light and shadow so I didnt want ruin it with overdoing effectsIn my camera bag
I usally only carry a compact digital camera I can take everywhere and fits in almost every bag.Feedback
Just walk around the world with open eyes and mind and you can find interesting sights everyday everywhere... And take a camera everywhere you go, so you can capture these sights
