In February of 2006 we went on our 1st Celebrity Cruise with my parents. One of our stops was St. Thomas. Dad had lent me his DSLR - First time using-he set on Auto and told me to 'just take pictures !' I know this shot is not the best and a different lens may have been better - but it this shot reminds me of the Excursion I took my Mom on at the end of the day before returning to the ship. The stores did not impress us as all the same Designer Stores are in every Mall in the U.S. We saw a few 'bus drivers' on the way back and a very 'happy' Bartholamew convinced us to go for a 'ride'. We were not sure we would survive it - his bus was so rickety - but it sure was fun ! He made extra stops so I could take Photos. Praying for that Island that like so many was devastated by Hurricane Irma. Just read St. Thomas is bracing for Maria's wrath - Dominica was just battered by Cat 5 Maria. We have no reason to feel anything but thankful if we are in a safe place tonight and for the next week.

The coconut branch, green vegetation and structures are typical of the tropics....hope they recover from any storm damages... an inviting photo non-the-less.
