I look up from doing the dishes, and saw this bear's face suddenly pop up from the garden fence. He was so sweet. When you look at his eyes and his face, he looks like he is contemplating his fate and the problems of being a bear in the urban setting. Again, this picture was shot through the sliding glass door .

Pardon me having a "grass is greener" moment as I note such a dramatic creature's being available at one's back door, as well as the
Heron/Waterbird photo ops at your nearby river. (In my outer-boro NYC house, besides doves, sparrows, jays & cardinals, only a rare
possum or raccoon sighting every few yrs lends variety to the squirrel/stray cat scene.) May I note, hope tasty snacks aren't a prominent
sight thru your glass doors - I once had a mere squirrel plunge thru a flimsy screen when I left a bag of peanuts in plain sight.

Hi FMcard, Yes, I am so lucky and thankful to have this bonanza of critters visiting me. The first time I saw a bear in the backyard, I almost had a heart attack. On the down side, the kids could never truly understand why they couldn't sleep in a tent in the backyard. LOL!! When you live in a bear neighbourhood, you go out of your way not to attract them. One time, I had some teens break into my car looking for money, while the neighbour had the bear break into her car to get the open bag of cheesies that she her kids lieft in it. I'd say I'm the one that got off easy that day.LOL!!
And even though you may only have doves, sparrows, jays and cardinals and squirrels, your photos are awesome!!

Kind words appreciated! - and all considered, I'm grateful for own photo ops especially as there's regular access to a beach house as well.....it's just that, variety being spice of life, wouldn't mind if nature threw in an occasional dark-eyed junco, or sent back my house finches of yesteryear. Regards.
