It rains a lot in Alaska. We were lucky to get a nice day with cloud cover.Equipment
1DX Mark ll , 500mm canon lens and I was hand holding for this this image but I had my Wimberley tripod with me. I was sitting down in the grass with the bear family to take this image.Inspiration
I love photographing bears. I wanted to capture them doing what they normally do. We just sat with them for a long period of time until they didn't care that we were there with them. They napped and ate grass and it felt like they forgot we were even there.Editing
I shoot in RAW so yes I do post process. I use PS.In my camera bag
My equipment is so big it is usually out of my bag and I am carrying it. In my bag is TC's and extra cards and batteries. Lens cloths, snacks and water.Feedback
Patience pays off. Gaining the animals trust and keeping your distance is best. Natural behavior images are the reward.
