I don't want to rain on your parade, but you should shy away from taking selfies with animals that are in captivity for photography props. These animals are ripped from their mothers when they are little and trained cruelly. You can say that my profile picture is a selfie with an animal in captivity, but that litlle elephant was rescued and is meant to return to the wild. The interaction between me and the elephant is totally voluntarily from the elephants part. That is not the case with this monkey. The picture is taken well though.

@bettylouluijken don’t make assumptions about others work. You don’t know how this shot was captured or where the circumstances of this animal. This photograph completely captures the humanistic essence of this little monkey. Love the composition!

Oddly, the image struck me as a monkey strangling . . . me! I’ll be better when I finish my coffee.
