The Summer Solstice occurs on or about June 20 in the Northern Hemisphere. It is the longest day of the year, and marks the middle of summer. This sunset image was captured in Alaska's interior region. On the Solstice, the sun sets on the Tanana Valley well after midnight. This was taken at Little Lost Lake at approximately 12:30 am.
