Bay Area architect William Nicholson designed the house in 1976, using experimental architecture and nontraditional building materials. The single-family home got its nickname "the Flintstone house" because it has a stone exterior and many bubble-like domes. The house is visible from Interstate 280 and is an area landmark. Hillsborough is 17 miles south of San Francisco.Had to take this picture from a moving car as there is no access from the canyon.
