Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken in the area of Seven Lakes, the beautiful Rila Mountain in Bulgaria. The visible peak is called Haramiya or Black Rock 2464m.

Time

I prefer to shoot at dawn in the morning. To do this I have to get up very early and reach the position of shooting before the sun has risen. The photo is taken in early June, when the snow melts and the purple crocuses bloom and create a lot of beauty.

Lighting

It was a cool morning. There were many clouds and I did not expect the sun to break through between them. But suddenly the horizon gained that magical color that every landscape photographer dreams of.

Equipment

Nikon D750, Nikkor 16-35 , Tripod , CPL filter,

Inspiration

At this time of the year, the crocuses bloom in the mountains. The snow retreats and the meadows are covered with a purple carpet of flowers. I can not describe this beauty in words

Editing

I process almost every picture. I made two frames with different settings. One for the sky and one for the lake. Primary processing in Ligthroom, then I stacked the two frames in photoshop. Finally corrected the contrast, colors and sharpening of the image.

My camera Nikon D750, Nikkor 16-35mm. for landscapes, Tokina 100mm. for macro shots, remote, CPL and ND filters, tripod Manfrotto.
