I shot the photo in my Vermeer Reproduction studio.Time

The lighting is a north light window like the old masters paintings.Equipment

I came up with the idea partly because I had the setup already from my Vermeer reproductions "also my experience as an oil painter" I've always admired and used the old masters' style of lighting. It was an amazing yet arduous project. Everything you see had to be made; from the vintage window which I had to scout for, to the stage had to be recreated. The stage of the piece is also the same we used to recreate Vermeers "Milk Maid". As for our muse; we got so fortunate to use a friend's daughter: she even fit the outfit! So, it was meant to be. It was such a gratifying project to recreate one of my most revered painters lighting, but also even more so for it to win an international merit at IPC along with merit at FPP of the state of Florida!Editing
Post was done in photoshop, very little needed, the light was perfect. In my camera bag

Best advice I can give is find a North light window, the light doesn't change throughout the day.. that is why the old masters used it for painting. pretty simple lighting.
