Behind The Lens

Location

This is a photo of my daughter and her dog Kasper. The photo was taken in her home located in Reno, NV.

Time

The photo was taken in the afternoon on Mothers Day. Her posing for photos was her gift to me.

Lighting

Natural light shining through a window with horizontal blinds.

Equipment

I used my Nikon D5000. Hand held. Stock lens, no flash.

Inspiration

My daughters eyes and the one blue eye of Kasper were the inspiration. Kasper is part Husky. His other eye is a green/brown color.

Editing

Post processing was done just to adjust a little shadowing.

In my camera bag

Nikon D5000, macro lens, wide range lens, and a long range lens is what I carry. I have a couple tripods, but prefer to hand hold.

Feedback

Get your subject to be comfortable in front of the camera. Have a passion for photography. Don't expect all your photos to be perfect...practice on family and pay attention to what works and what doesn't.
