The table have turned, literally. This photo was taken at Arnaga, Edmond Rostand's house in France. Rostand is most known for his play: Cyrano de Bergerac where the theme of appearance is not the reality is present. In the play Cyrano, an ugly man, tries to win the attention of a beautiful woman, Roxane, but fails. In turn he helps Christian, an attractive man, win her attention by providing him words to swoon her. Roxane falls in love with Christian but not for his looks, but for the words Cyrano has been giving. Just like the play, this photo's reality is hidden under a deceptive illusion that can only be seen upside down.
