Behind The Lens

Location

I live in St.Petersburg, on the northern border of Russia and we drive to neighbour Finland for shopping quite often. It's just about 2-3 hours on the way. That day in the end of June me and my wife were very late on our way back home after shopping in Finland because of hard traffic on the highway. Maybe you know there is a period in our part of the world which is called "white nights". The peak of this period is June 21st. The sun goes down for 1 hour only on that day! And day's duration is about 23 hours. I do not remember for sure but it seems we had our trip just then. I was pretty tired with long time driving and when we watched a small lake by the road (near the Finnish border) we made a stop for 30 min and had a rest. The weather was extremly hot (you can see the vapour over the hot water!) We had a swim in that beautiful lake, then I took this picture. The place was absolutely wild and we were admired with it a lot.

Time

As far as I remember this shoot done about 11 p.m.

Lighting

Natural lighting only of course.

Equipment

That day it was compact camera Canon G1X.

Inspiration

Anybody would be inspired there I think.

Editing

Maybe just corrected "gamma" a little.

In my camera bag

Normally I use Canon 5D Mark III + lens 24-105 + lens 14/2.8 fix + lens 50/1.4 fix.

Feedback

Love the nature and sometime take a stop on your run to capture the beauty.
