Behind The Lens

Location

I took this in the very south suburbs of Chicago. I have a thing for trees and old barns so love the rural roads.

Time

This was late afternoon and the clouds helped make the normal everyday scene that much more dramatic

Lighting

The lighting is just what I was hoping for. I pulled over and thought the clouds were fantastic and as I was standing there rays of light started to shine through the clouds

Equipment

Canon Mark iii 50 1.4mm lens

Inspiration

I love trees and that light it was almost biblical

Editing

Yes just basic editing as I shoot in raw. I did increase the exposure just a bit along with highlights in the golden sunset portion

In my camera bag

Canon mark iii, nifty 50 and 70-200 f2.8...always along with canon flash

Feedback

Just pull over when you see a scene that catches your eye. Adjust the settings as soon as you get camera in hand so if they light shines a particular way you are ready.
