"Granny"

This is my almost-14-year-old mixed-breed dog named Luna (after Roman moon goddess). Name for her came to me instantly, because of the moon-like spots on her snout, and I was always into mythology. I was also always that kid who tried to bring every stray home (earning me 'crazy dog lady' description from my friends), and this is the first one I actually (after a lot of warring with my mom and granddad) got to keep. She has managed to endear herself so much to my late granddad and to my mother, so now that we (Luna and me) are moving to Vancouver, Canada, my mother is open to adopting another dog, "but only if it will be like Luna". That woman used to be so afraid of the dogs that she'd run like crazy upon seeing a PUPPY.

We went through quite a few unfortunate events in life (both hers and mine), but I have tried my best to give her the loving home, care and the life every dog deserves. We share a special connection indeed, which enabled me to teach her quite a few tricks completely effortlessly, and some of them even after she grew older (so much about 'you can't teach an old dog new tricks'). Over the time, we have become somewhat of a street attraction, because she carries her own brush when going out for a walk, and she always carries some small bag when we are returning from a store - I joke that my furry kid's earning her food that way :)
I am the luckiest person in the world to be found and followed home that fateful day by her, and I cannot even imagine my life without her. I've always loved dogs, but with this experience, I can honestly say that they truly are the best nature's gift to humans, and they make our lives, our world - and our characters - profoundly better.
