Location
This photo was taken at the CNE ( Canadian National Exhibition) in the midway. Toronto OntarioTime
Walking through the midway after dark, this ride stood out to me. As it spun, the colours streaked across the sky before my eyes. Set my camera to capture the right amount of colour blur from the lights and enough stability to get the interesting patterns in the center.Lighting
As I watched the lights spin before me I found they created a rainbow. A light sheet of coloured light with little streaks from the flashing lights create a fantastic texture and layers within the photo.Equipment
This was shot with a Nikon D3200, as well as a tripod.Inspiration
The carnival rides made such amazing patterns I could not but help to do some slow shutter photography. I love the amount of contrast, the bright lights and colours against the dark night sky. I just love that pop of colour against the night sky.Editing
For the most part no. Just standard colour correction as well as brightness and contrast adjustment to get that black black sky.In my camera bag
My D3200, a macro lenses, standard lenses, and occasionally my zoom lens. I try to travel as light as possible so I always have my mini gorilla table top tripod. And if I know I will be shooting at night ( Or have a specific shot I want to get) a small tripod, nothing fancy just something that is small and light enough to put in my back back.Feedback
What I found best was trial and error. With this type of photography I think it is best to experiment. You never know what combination of setting will result in a really cool photo. You might be trying to achieve one effect and stumble across some thing totally different that you love.
