Visiting Itsukushima island (more popularly called Miyajima), my parents and I were fortunate enough to see the great Torii shrine at both low and high tide. As we walked back down the mountain and passed it once more, this shot caught my eye. I later found out that the writing means 'lantern', which I thought a rather appropriate tool when crossing the apparent boundary between the human and spirit worlds.
