The evening before we had a fairly close encounter (6-8ft) but I didn't have the right lens with me, as it was to be a landscape photo day. We wanted to come back and hike the dunes in the morning light and we hoped that we'd see this handsome guy or other black variations from the previous dusk, despite the sun already being a bit high in the sky. Upon entering the dunes, we sighted him, and turned into the pullout and got out to watch him. He came up close again, allowing me to grab a quick shot of him going about his late morning tasks before going back to the den. Such an awesome and humbling experience for our first time seeing Red Foxes in the wild. <3
