Thanks very much. Was such a clear night when I took this shot. 😊

This photo was taken at Southbank in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia in late Winter.Time
It was a very dark night and the ferris wheel was highlighted by lights shining from below and stood out so well against the black sky. I took this shot just before I left Southbank at 9.45pm.Lighting
The lighting was all from lights beneath shining up on the ferris wheel and buildings which made it stand out against the dark night sky.Equipment
I was using my Canon PowerShot SX530 HS when this photo was taken and it was hand held. 4.3mm f3/4 1/20sec ISO 400Inspiration
I just saw this fabulous image of the ferris wheel and moved around to capture this particular image. I liked the way the buildings also were ablaze with light and there were people walking towards the ride. It is a great memory of my time in Brisbane and Southbank was a wonderful draw card with its vibrancy and night life beside the Brisbane River. I took the shot crouched down and looking upwards.Editing
Yes the particular image has been photoshopped to Black and White as the original was in color. However, I felt the small amount of color was not in fact enhancing the image so changed to Black and White. In my camera bag
I always have two cameras with me, currently a Canon PowerShot SX60 HS and my larger Nikon Coolpix P950. I carry these cameras as they are lighter and I have difficulty lifting heavier cameras and lenses. I like the zoom features on both, the macro and of course my favorite feature on the Nikon, Bird setting. I take many bird photos and paint from these images. I also have attached to one of these cameras my monopod for easy setting up, dropping and locking. Also in the bag are spare batteries for each. I detest finding that great shot and then the camera running out of battery at that exact time. Learned that lesson the hard way. Now always carry spares.Feedback
I would say just walk around at night until an image inspires you to take a shot. Then position yourself in various spots around the area and take different perspectives of the subject you like. This particular capture was one of many I took that night, however, this angle is the one that drew my eye when selecting a shot to load to Viewbug. I like the subject and perspective with the ferris wheel behind the buildings and the wheel on a slight angle giving me a sense of movement.
