This was taken where the River Hull meets the Humber Estuary. The spot is known locally as Sammy’s Point, as it was the site of a large shipyard bun by Martin Samuelson in the mid nineteenth century. The buildings on the opposite side of the river are modern buildings built on the site of the old dry dock.
