Bulgaria is a small country with many legends and old stories. My tonight´s image is from Cape Kaliakra on the Black Sea. It is a long and narrow cape on the northern Bulgarian Black Sea coast. Legend say that in one attack before many many years the soldiers saw on the road 40 beautiful girls and captured them. The girls didn´t know, but the general evil fate brought them and they do not became a toy in the hands of the invaders ... They preferred to tie their hair together and arranged in row jumped in the sea - in the middle was the most courageous and beautiful girl, Kaliakra. When the soldiers saw them they looked like a flock of cranes, with flying clothes and outstretched arms flying over the sea. At the beginning of the Cape Kaliakra has obelisk called the "Gate of the 40 virgins" in their memory. Seagulls often land on the arch to remind us of this terrible story, or perhaps this is the spirit of one of the girls, who still can not find peace ... who know?
