This is the first photo from many more I took in my recent road trip across the US.
We arrived at the Monument Valley National Park just before golden hour and managed to see it at its best. The golden light from the setting sun illuminating the rocky formations gives them all sorts of amazing red tones.
We stopped at this viewpoint and I caught this man walking towards the edge of the cliff where John Wayne once stood, so I quickly got the telezoom out of the bag to capture this shot. The human element gives a sense of scale.
