Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in the parking lot of my church. I was getting ready to pull out of the parking lot when I looked up and saw the sunset. It took my breath away.

Time

This was taken late in the day when the sun was just starting to set. I got out of my car and walked over to the fence. I stared at the sky for 30 minutes before I got my camera out. I fell in love with the sky.

Lighting

The light from the sunset is what drew me in. I wanted to capture the moment before it was gone.

Equipment

I used my Canon EOS 70D. I used a 58 mm macro lens.

Inspiration

I was caught off guard by the beautiful sunset unfolding before me. I wanted to capture it before it was gone forever.

Editing

Usually landscape photography takes a lot of post-processing, but this picture didn't.

In my camera bag

I normally have two extra batteries in my bag because I always forget to turn the camera off between venues. I like to make sure I get a good shot so I bring extra SD cards just in case I run out of room.

Feedback

My advice would be try a bunch of different angles and take a load of pictures. If you fall in love with a view like I did, you can never take too many pictures of it.
