The photo was taken in France, in the French Riviera, on a beach named "Cabasson" in the small village of Bormes-les-Mimosas. That place is named "La pointe du diable" it means "the tip of the devil". I love sunsets and it was an amazing place to shot this one.Time
This is my favourite landscape photo that I made, since I love photography. Because, that photo was taken with my new camera, I just bought it and I wanted to see my potential creativity with this new tool. This photo was made the April 24, 2016 at 8:06 PMLighting
Before to made this photo, I wanted to create a Fine Art photograph as we can see in some art galleries. I know it's in general in black and white, but I wanted to create something different for Fine Art Photography. Something with a lot of details in the bottom, on the rocks... and oppositely smooth on the top, in the sky.Equipment
To create that awesome photo, I used the new camera I bought few days before, a Canon 70D with my Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM lens. I used a tripod for a long exposure, with a ND filter 1000.Inspiration
I was searching a place where I could see a sunset near water, because in "Bormes-les-Mimosas" and "Le Lavandou", the both towns where I live actually, are oriented to the south and it's not a lot inspiring for me to take sunset photography with the reflection in the water, there is all the time hills around the sunset, and this place was so close to what I wanted for my sunset Fine Art Photo.Editing
I used Lightroom for the post-processing, I used it to contrast and in same time enlightening the obscurity of the rocks to see the most details I could. In my camera bag
Each time I leave my house, I take my bag because we never know when it's the good moment to take a shot, that's why, we have to be prepared. I have in my bag my Canon 70D, my Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM lens, my Canon 50mm f/1.8 lens, my ND Filters full Black with my gradient and colors filters, my tripod, and... I ride my scooter to discover new places.Feedback
I can't remember how many photos I lost because I was not prepared, I hadn't my camera bag with me, and I lost the opportunity to create my best photos of my life. Never forget that any sunset is Unique, and same if 2 people are watching the same sunset, in the same place, your photo is whatever happens UNIQUE. Because YOU made it with your Artist Eyes. Stay prepared, get your gear with you all the time, and open your eyes, open your heart, and click. :)
