Location
This photo was taken in Campos do Jordão, São Paulo - Brazil. This is a very small and cozy city due to its european-like architecture and climate.Time
I believe this was taken between 3pm and 4pm. I remember my girlfriend and I were in vacation and decided to wander nearby the hotel that day in the afternoon.Lighting
All natural light! I rarely shoot indoors so I do prefer to keep that way though. I love to see the light coming through the clouds specially in that view.Equipment
Nothing more than a Canon T3i with Canon 50mm f1.8 lens.Inspiration
As I said, my girlfriend and I were in vacation and decided to wander nearby the hotel that day in the afternoon. We did walk quite a bit looking at the big old houses and souvenirs stores (we bought that plane in the photo, the cap, a hourglass and a small tresure chest ) until we found that spot. When we did, we kind of agreed to sit there for a while just to enjoy the beautiful view. Wherever I go I usually look around to imagine things happening, the more magical the better. In that place, as we were so high and the clouds so close, I created the image in my head of a boy running with his plane free as a bird.Editing
Yes, I did. I usually use Brenizer Method to create an atmospheric scene. This method is pretty much taking as much photos around the subject as you want and putting all of them together afterwards like a panoramic image. Also, I made some shots of the plane alone so I could clone it on the final image. In my camera bag
All I have is a Canon T3i body, a 50mm f1.8 lens and a timer remote control. I dont have the habit to carry the tripod except when I have an idea before going out.Feedback
The idea happened all of a sudden and that may be something that occurs to almost everyone of us who can see the world in a specific way. I had to run back and forth for many times to catch the right posing and movement due so I would suggest to be patient taking self portraits. Be prepared and plan as much as you can before going to shoot it, things will happen to change all you have planed but I like it that way. Usually makes it better and even more original. Try to image scenes out of the obvious and do that often, it helps to be creative and also to live in this concrete world.
