Standing on foot close by a wild elephant is one of the most awe inspiring moments you can find. If the Elephant is calm you can get reasonably close and you feel the calm energy of the animal. This old bull didn't move or flinch one second when we approached. He knew we where there, we didn't get in his way so he basically ignored us. Although this is not a true forrest elephant, he has the typical straight and downwards pointing tusks of a forrest ellie. Together with smaller size this is one of the adaptions African ellies have when they live in forested area's. He was simply to large to be a true forest elephant. I just hope he is still around and not poached out as most tuskers are these days..
