This chick hatched at least a week after the other chicks. I think the egg must have been buried under the pine shavings. When I found the chick, the poor little thing was peeping loudly. It couldn't standup, kept falling on its back. It's back was a mess. I think it had been attacked by a hen. I snatched it up and took it in the house. It peeped loudly unless I held it. A friend sent me a picture of chicks huddled under a feather duster, so I tried it. The chick is happy and quiet with feather duster mama.
