While this shot was taken in September of 2012, the image of the Bee stays fresh in my mind. Our food supply has never been in more peril. I find it bees to be a miracle of creation. While other insects do help in Pollination - it is the bees that are suffering at the hands of Mankind. Their populations dwindle at an amazing rate - and it has to stop. In the 'march' to keep insects from damaging crops and Suburban Gardens-Countryside they are falling prey to the very chemicals used to protect crops. Soon if we don't get smarter, there may not be that many crops to save. We owe so much to our Bee populations. I was very happy the other day to be out and find numerous species of bees at a local Garden Centre! I just happened to click on the Ontario Beekeepers Association Website minutes ago and had my eyes opened to the many Operations that are being sold and in need of Beekeepers. We are living in a very 'fragile' time in History.

wonderful capture and I love the write up and the way you think ... you are so right about the bee population and we really do need to be more careful and more aggressive with ensuring their safety and continued growth !!!
