Location
This is a photograph of Fairfield Church near Appledore in Kent. There are often sheep in the fields surrounding this little church but not on this occasion.Time
It was taken in the late afternoon but the sunset was taken on a completely different day at a completely different location (at home). I love this little church and go there quite often. It's different every time.Lighting
This is a large flat area on Romney Marsh with "big" skies. The light varies every day and so does the atmosphere of the place.Equipment
I use a Fujifilm EXR bridge camera. Both pictures were taken hand-held.Inspiration
It's a quiet spot and the church is very photogenic. Sometimes there are sheep in the fields that surround the church and there is water on three sides so shooting angles are varied.Editing
I tweeked the church in photoshop a bit and then added the "new" sky which I think improved the photograph no end, even though the sun is not quite in the right place. In my camera bag
Generally I only take my camera, spare battery and perhaps my polaroid filter with me on field trips. If I go away on a trip with my photography girlfriend then I take my polaroid filter, monopod or tripod, some ND filters, several spare batteries and a camera lens hood. Not much else. I like to keep light-weight. As I have a bridge camera I don't have spare lenses to lug about!Feedback
I was lucky with the light on Fairfield Church that day. The sun was low in the sky and the air was clear. I have to be patient to get the right photograph and it doesn't always work out but when it does it's worth waiting for!
