Location
Greenlawn Cemetery in Columbus, Ohio. The cemetery is beautiful and I have photographed there many times as well as volunteering there. They work hard to cultivate a beautiful space that is very peaceful and serene. It makes a wonderful place to photograph in.Time
It was photographed around 6pm in the evening. I still remember because as a result we were accidentally locked in for about 20 minutes. This was the very last image that I had photographed in this session. We had originally gone there to photograph on an old iron bridge that is hidden in the back. We were driving back to the front to leave when I seen this little area and we stopped. This became my favorite image captured, and is still one of my favorite things that I've ever photographed.Lighting
There's not much to share here. The lighting was all natural. This was photographed before I knew how to edit, so aside from cropping done to the image for a project I was using it for, the image is raw. The lighting is exactly what I was able to capture using the camera.Equipment
It was photographed on my first digital camera, a Kodak Easyshare Z1012.Inspiration
I had been playing with depth of field in my photography at the time. When I seen the tree I knew that I had the opportunity to capture something really special.Editing
No.In my camera bag
At the time this was taken it was just my Kodak Easyshare. I've grown a lot since then. I now have my Nikon D3500 that I never leave home without.Feedback
It's important to be open to unexpected inspiration that you may happen upon when photographing. This ended up being a random stop at then end of a session photographing something else entirely. Sometimes the stars just align. When the inspiration strikes, go for it.
