Location
This photograph was taken at Neist Point - the most westerly point on the Isle of Skye. Isle of Skye is known to be one of the most beautiful places of Scotland. I took this photo in May 2016. Neist point is easy to access. But if you want to walk down the slope to get less common and very magnificent view, be very careful – if you stumble on something you can fall down to the sea from 100 feet high.Time
When we’ve arrived at the point, it was really sunny. Of course, we got there about one or two hours before sunset to look around and to choose the best point of view.Lighting
Awaiting for a sunset pay your attention to the clouds – the weather is very changeable in the Sky so you can miss the last light easily.Equipment
This photo was shot on Sony Alpha SLT-A99 camera with Sony Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar 24-70mm (SAL-2470Z). Of course, I used a tripod and remote control because of long exposure.Inspiration
I was inspired just by the aesthetics of the place. It has a good light, nice shapes and colors. What else to wish? :)Editing
Actually, there’s almost no post-processing – just minor adjustments in colors, shadows and highlights, lens corrections and final cropping of the image. In my camera bag
The equipment I usually take with me is rather common for landscape photographer. First, that is my camera Sony Alpha SLT-A99, than four lenses - old Sigma DG 12-24 mm f/ 4.5-5.6 EX for a very wide angles, than Sony Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar 16-35mm (SAL-1635Z) and Sony Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar 24-70mm (SAL-2470Z) for the most part of the photos, Minolta AF 100-200/4.5 - very light telephoto lens, - and Tamron SP AF 150-600 mm f/5-6.3 Di VC USD. Also I have a number of filters - neutral density and polarized. Of course, I have to say about my tripod, camera remote control and my phone with a number of photo tools to find out time of low and high tides, sunsets and sunrises and soon.Feedback
As I always say, take as many pictures as you want but publish only the ones that you a ready to print in a big size and hang it on the wall in front of yourself for one month at least. Study the works of great photographers and try to find your own way in photography.
