At the far west end of Cot valley,Porth Nanven is a protected Site of Special Scientific Interest. Known by some as Dinosaur Egg Beach,the giant pebbles were rounded by the seas of some 120,000 years ago,and can be seen embedded in the surrounding cliff face several meters high, from a time when sea levels were much higher than today.
