Brilliant capture. I enjoy flowers as a subject and this is stunning.

Since 1980 some of the states in Germany and Austria have a yearly horticulture show. It also covers topics like landscaping. Each year the show takes place in a different city. One of the basic ideas of these shows is to get something durable for the people of these cities like a park or a lake. I took this photo in the city of Nagold in Germany, in the park, where this horticulture show was held in 2012.Time
On a Saturday morning, to be exact on 05/21/2016, me and my wife decided to visit the weekly farmer's market in Nagold. As the weather was really great when we arrived in Nagold, we decided, to have a stroll through the park first. We have been in this park from about 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM.Lighting
Well, the sun was bright, almost to much for taking photos. So I decided to concentrate on small objects in the shadow of larger objects.Equipment
This shot was taken with a Nikon D3300 with a Tamron AF 70-300mm 4-5,6 Di LD Macro 1:2 lens. I did not use any other equipment for this shot. The shot was taken with f/7.1 1/400s iso125 250.00mm with macro mode activated.Inspiration
Because of the bright sun, I had the idea to take some macro shots of small flowers in the shadow of bigger flowers or big leaves or small bushes. I had the vague idea to learn something about light and shadow.Editing
To my surprise, this shot did not require any real effort in post-processing in RawTherapee. I used the white balance from the camera and automatic exposure and some usm sharpening. As I final step I did some cropping. However, I'm pretty sure that a pro would be able to improve this shot with some sophisticated post-processing.In my camera bag
In my bag you find my Nikon D3300 with a mounted Nikkor AF-S DX 18-55 VR II. As an additional lens I have a Tamron AF 70-300mm 4-5,6 Di LD Macro 1:2. Since two weeks I also have a Raynox DCR 250 macro close up adapter. Last but not least I have a Manfrotto Compact Advanced Tripod.Feedback
These kind of shots I usually don't plan. Most of the time it doesn't make any sense to plan to shot a specific flower. Of course I also go for a sunflower or something like that, but I'm a beginner, well, may be an advanced beginner, and I'm convinced that I still have to learn a lot about lighting or perspective or other techniques. Take one hour a week, where you shoot whatever you see. Scan these photos afterwards for errors and try to improve your skills that way.
