Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken across the street from my home at the flower garden next to the church.

Time

It was around 3:30pm.

Lighting

Natural sunlight and amazing shadow casting from the newly spouted leaves from the gorgeous oak trees.

Equipment

This was taken using my Nikon D5200 SLR.

Inspiration

My father was visiting from Cape Cod and we decided to take my twins for a stroll around the neighborhood. The church has a wooden boat situated near the flower graden. My kids love playing on it. My daughter was having a meltdown at the time, and"Pop-Pop" was trying to cheer her up. It turned into a hysterical time and I wanted to capture her emotions as well as his. I am glad I did!

Editing

The only change I made was saving it as a black and white photo.

In my camera bag

I always carry two lenses: a 18-55mm and a 70-300mm. I have an assortment of filters, a battery charger, a lens cloth, and an open mind!

Feedback

Don't look for the moment or perfect picture. Sometimes the best photos happen unplanned.
