Location
I took this photo in King's Wood, Challock,UK. It's an ancient woodland renowned for it's show of bluebells.Time
I arrived here with my husband and 3 grandchildren in time for a picnic lunch. I took many photos that day but this one was a favourite. Zak is such a happy, child and he was just enjoying sitting amongst the flowers.Lighting
Natural lighting was great and I needed nothing else.Equipment
I used my Nikon D750, handheld as the children move too quickly for me to use a tripod! My lens was a Nikon AF-S 24-120mm f/4G ED VR which I find is a good all rounder. 44mm, f13, 1/30 sec.Inspiration
I wanted to take some natural shots of the children in the bluebells. They had such fun here, making dens and walking in the wood, getting muddy!Editing
Post -processing was not necessary but I tweaked the exposure as it was a tiny bit underexposed. In my camera bag
I always carry a Nikon D3200 and kit lens 18-55 and 70 -200 in the car as I hate to be without a camera, and i find something to photograph every day. I also have a Nikon D750 which is my favourite for planned photography shoots, and studio, and I will often use a macro lens then. My flash is a Nikon speedlight. A reflector is very useful tool in my bag too.Feedback
The bluebell season is very short and not always many sunny days in the UK spring, so you have to seize the moment, down tools and shoot!! The woods can be absolutely beautiful at dawn and dusk too, just a sea of blue. You can only take beautiful shots.
