The West of Ireland is a magical place, rolling green hills, rugged coasts and rocky mountains with thousands of years of rich history engraved in each crevice. What fascinates me most, however, is our music. The culture and emotional energy that Irish Trad music portrays is so joyful and sorrowful, so powerful and striking, I felt it a crime that there is no way to embody such glorious music in photography. Through the contrast of silence of the forest vs. the sound of the music, of man vs. nature, youth and aging trees vs. the timelessness of black and white, I seek to portray these powerful emotions through my photography, through my love of portraiture, people, culture, history and landscape.
