Behind The Lens

Location

In Chefchaouen, Morocco, there are only two colors: blue and white.

Time

It's 1:53 pm, Jan 2, 2016. My girlfriend and I were taking a stroll after lunch. Walking past main street packed with locals selling handicrafts and tourists bargaining deals, we took a turn into a random lane. She suddenly stopped behind me and wanted to take a rest. I looked back, and pressed the shutter.

Lighting

In such narrow layout, midday sun was so strong that itself and its reflection lit up the walls and steps, creating a dazzling contrast light and shade.

Equipment

It was shot with Canon EOS 60D and Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM.

Inspiration

There are too many photos about Chefchaouen, the blue city, arguably the most representative small town in Morocco or even the whole North Africa. I was looking for just one thing: a setting that was "pure": blue and white are the only colors; street, walls, and a model are the only objects.

Editing

The lighting and timing was perfect that no post-processing was needed!
