Excellent movement captured, love the clarity of the water droplets - the fast shutter speed, but still showing action. It's awesome!
Such a majestic creature too.

Location
I took this shot from a private hide in a place called Dumfries, on the boarder of Scotland.Time
I was in the hide from around 6-30 am and had my first visit out of four from the male Kingfisher at around 9-00 am.This shot was one taken from the first visit.Lighting
There was a mixture of Sun and cloud on the morning making it difficult to choose the camera settings as The light was constantly changing. I was shooting in manual with a very fast shutter speed, ISO set to auto and shooting with the lens set at a fairly wide apature.Equipment
I used a Canon DX1 along with Canon 70-200 2.8 lens a good quality bean bag and a remote trigger.Inspiration
I remember the first time coming across a photo of a kingfisher emerging from the water with a fish in its beak. It was and still is for me such a spectacular sight. To get the opportunity to capture this skillful bird in action was not to be missed.Editing
For my Processing I use photoshop. I did a little tweaking of the exposure and contrast, some sharpening and colour adjustment and finally some cropping of the image. In my camera bag
I have in my Bag a canon 7d mk11, Canon 1DX, Canon 300mm f2.8 Canon1.4 converter Canon 70-200mm f2.8 Lens. cleaning kit for lenses. Spare cards and Batteries. I Always have a bean bag and tripod in the boot of my car.Feedback
To get a similar shot my advise would be to book a hide for the species you are wanting to photograph. Ask the hide owner his recommended focal length for shooting from the hide. What Camera support you will need as not all hides have room for tripods. Make sure you are dressed correctly for the weather conditions as comfort is important. You are Likely to be in the hide for most of the day so take something to eat and drink. The more comfortable you are the more likely you are to come away with some great images. Take the time to check your camera settings keeping an eye on the light and change your settings accordingly. Be patient
