Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in my studio which is right beside my home in Ontario, Canada

Time

I came up with this idea for a possible book cover and I have used Meri as a model before and knew she would be perfect! This was taken around 11:30 am in my studio, that is when the best light was coming in.

Lighting

This image screamed bright colours, so I wanted to make sure it was very well lit! This was all natural light with a very large reflector on one side of her face

Equipment

Canon 6D, 24-205mm lens, hand held, no flash

Inspiration

I read about an idea that someone was looking for, it was for a teen novel. They wanted bright colours and I went with that!! I knew I wanted a blue background, so I went and found the brightest swimming cap and googles I could find that would contrast with that well.

Editing

I didn't do much for editing on this one, made sure the lighting as fairly even on her face and brought out the water drops a little more on the googles.

In my camera bag

I have my Canon 6D, 24-105mm lens, 50 1.4 mm, 85 1.4 mm, flash, remote and tripod

Feedback

Just have fun with it, this was something I usually don't create so I was way our of my comfort zone, but I took so many shots and I was super happy with this one in particular!
