Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in a field behind my mother in laws house in Michigan. I'm a self taught photographer and was taking advantage of the "golden hour" while using my new 50mm lens.

Time

I wanted to take advantage of the golden hour at this beautiful field I found behind my mother in law's home. I took the picture in April around 6pm.

Lighting

My kids are always perfect models for me. I saw an opportunity as the sun was setting to capture this image. The lens flare was a beautiful added bonus.

Equipment

This was shot with a Canon EOS Rebel T3. I used my canon 50mm lens.

Inspiration

My beautiful children;the loves of my life! I always sing "You Are My Sunshine" to them. It was the perfect evening to capture the light from the sun shining down on them.

Editing

This photo I did not edit it any way. It is perfect in its own way and I'm glad I kept it in its original form.

In my camera bag

I don't carry a lot of equipment around. My camera and my 50mm lens is all I need.

Feedback

Draw inspiration from the light around you. Take advantage of the "golden hour," especially if you want to capture a similar image. It helps to have beautiful subjects too!
