What method did you use to capture this wonderful image, was a telescope used, I've tried this shot with my 300mm lens but it turns out tiny.

Image is taken with a 500mm Maksutov f:5,6 with a Canon EOS 10D, because of the smaller chip size, it has the size of a 800mm with full frame chip. Camera and objective was mounted on the counter weight shaft of a equatorial mount and guided with a telescope. In total I used 20 frames between 1 to 15 minutes exposure time.
