Location
I was on a 3 week Scandinavian trip and stopped in Trondheim, Norway. The only thing I knew about this city was that it had colorful houses and storefronts. Boy, did it live up to my expectations.Time
It was middle of the day so it was perfect sunlight against the colorful storefronts on the water. Absolutely stunning combination.Lighting
I wanted to make sure the sunlight wasn't too bright where you couldn't make out the castle on top of the hill and not too dark where you couldn't see some of the reflections on the water. I think I found a great balance.Equipment
Canon EOS Rebel T5Inspiration
You don't see that many colorful buildings in the U.S for some reason. That's why I love Europe and Scandinavian countries as they seem to always have very vibrant colored buildings. I had to take that picture.Editing
I believe I had my UV filter on my Canon camera lense at the time so that helped with cutting out extra sunlight. Besides that I didn't do too much extra to it. I like to keep pictures as close to the real thing as possible. In my camera bag
Canon EOS Rebel T5, 18-55 mm lense is what I normally use. I also use my UV Filter and Wide angle lense sometimes as well.Feedback
Sometimes it takes a couple or hundreds of different takes to get the right picture. Taking many pictures and trying to find the right angles helps as well. I strongly suggest the UV filter when it is extremely sunny out as most pictures seem to look a lot better with that.
