Slappy the Sea Lion pup was molting. He had been seen up & down the Pacfic Coast of the San Diego, California area beaching himself when he tired.

This day, he chose to rest at Tamarack Beach in Carlsbad, California.

Sea World had been out to check on him & the lifeguards communitcate with Sea World daily until he finishes molting.

I almost didn't bring my camera to the beach! Thank goodness for my telephoto lens. I would have been kicking myself had I left my camera at the hotel.
