Location
This photo was taken quite a long time ago, in better (comparatively) times in one of the buildings of the Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, Russia.Time
Oddly enough, this is an interior photo. The picture was taken in the afternoon in midsummer, when daylight in the north lasts almost 24 hours.Lighting
This is the space of a glassed courtyard. Windows and glass partitions form a complex play of glare and reflections.Equipment
At that time I was using a Canon 350D. If I'm not mistaken, the lens was EF-S 17-85 mm 1: 4-5.6 IS USM. No other equipment was involved.Inspiration
I couldn't get past this combination of street view reflections inside the building, light highlights and reflected shadows.Editing
In this case, I just cropped the photo and used curves. In my camera bag
I currently carry a Canon EOS 5D Mark IV with me, even though it is quite heavy. My main lens now is Canon EF 24-105 mm F/4L IS USM. I usually use a UV filter and a lens hood. Honestly, I often shoot with my smartphone too.Feedback
What can I say here? Go to museums, art is what remains. And look not only at paintings, statues or installations, but also around you.
