What an impressive shot!

Amazing! Muscles look outstanding

is the post there to add something, maybe it's to make your German Shepard look like he's on a stick?
I would clone it out, no I would cut the dog out and put it on a different background, to loose the flare.

Its not a post, it is the obstacle the dog is jumping over, so I think it is quite important part of the story. It would probably help to see a small gap there so different perspective maybe would be better, but its still an amazing shot.
