Nothing spectacular, here's what the camera chose: Shutter Speed 1/60 s, f/2.8, ISO 160, 0.00 eV, Metering Mode: Pattern, Flash: Auto, Fired, Focal Length 6.2 mm, White Balance: Auto. That's all!

Equipment

A quick-draw Canon PowerShot D10 has recorded this scene. Small enough to be always at hand, you start it by thumb, and almost in the same moment you can fire the shot. A tad like those old gunslinger's revolvers with trigger removed and trigger guard sawn off...:)

Inspiration

Let me put it this way: How can anyone have such an endearing crowd at home and NOT BE inspired?! No way.

Editing

Probably nothing save some cropping and rotating to correct the horizontals in a quickly shot photo at arm's length. Because I did not look at the monitor in that moment. Nothing else needed be done.

In my camera bag

To me it is easier to carry a photo vest than any photo bag. So I load my photo vest with whatever I might need for my photo session, walk or trip. My photo bags usually keep the equipment I'm not using at the moment. The vest's many pockets usually contain two cameras, spare batteries, ND and CPL filters, and one small photo clamp instead of a tripod. Sometimes I'll include a small action camera, mainly for its wide field of view and resistance to water and weather. The vest has large-lens pockets that holds a small water bottle, a sandwich, or a bar of chocolate if I plan on being out for the whole day. There is about three meters length of paracord or similar strong, thin rope, one hefty pocket knife, and a lighter. With these, much can be "mcgyvered" along the way, so that's all I need. Recently I make it even more comfortable for me, and take the essentials along in a waist pouch. Simplicity and comfort; two best ingredients in most situations!

Having ANY animals at home is an inspiration that is like a cup that normally overflows, and is at least brimming the rest of the time. So have a camera you know well closely at hand, and watch the life developing! :)
