This was one of the first ever photos I took up our local Castle in Aberystwyth, West Wales about 7 months agoTime
This was taken as the sunset on a rare sunny crisp day last winterLighting
I was a complete novice when I took this.. I just felt that if I positioned the person sitting down between me and the sun then I would capture a lovely silhouette figure against the backdrop of a gorgeous sky.. When I look at this image I can now see how much better it could be but surely that is part of the fun of photography?Equipment
Canon 1200d I think with a sigma 70-300mm telefoto lens.. A great starter kit for the budding photographerInspiration
We have the most fabulous sunsets in Aberystwyth which is inspiration in itself. That said I just loved the way this person gazed out to sea.. We had such a wet winter and to see the sun gave such a lift. That picture captured the mood that evening!Editing
No, at the time I was pleased with the shot :)In my camera bag
I now have a Canon 80d that I take everywhere along with a macro lens and 18-200mm Canon lens. I make sure I have some cleaning stuff in there too!Feedback
Just look and you will see. Silhouettes are good fun to capture and very rewarding. Get the lens to work for you and also look at the angles and don't be afraid to try out different things!
