Location
Halvarsnoren. One of many lakes where I live, one I pass pretty much every day on my way from my cottage in the forest to the village, Grythyttan in Bergslagen, Sweden.Time
An enchanted mid autumn dawn; the murky fog caught my attention.Lighting
No added or post-processed lighting done in this photo. Only natural early morning light with the sun trying to break through the fog.Equipment
Shot with a Canon 7D, lens: Canon 24-70/2.8, no tripod, no flash, no other equipment than my camera and a steady hand.Inspiration
The fog; silent, still and mysterious. Not a ripple in air nor water. Nothing moved, all silent. So still, pure and perfect, time seemed to have stopped. Like a photograph, captured in a moment of time. I could not resist to try to capture the beauty, the magic, the moment of perfect stillness.Editing
No post-processing was done.In my camera bag

The light is always magical early mornings, particularly in autumn when sun stays low on the horizon at my northern longitude. Its the perfect time to go for a hike with camera, no matter where you are, to capture the world awakening. What ever catch your attention, capture it, don't criticize your instinct, don't overthink, shoot it the way you see it's beauty, capture the moment the way you see it. If you shoot in thick fog and can't see much more than zillion different shades of grey but find it beautiful, well, whatever gets your visual attention - capture it. If you think the fog is too thick, wait. The fog is not static, it is always changing. Wait until you see the beauty, then frame it. The beauty is there, all one has to do is see it.
