This picture is to showcase the simple beauty of the dress. I think this darkness behind the debutante gives a Harlem Renaissance kind of feel to it. I am reminded of Janie from Zora Neale Hurston's book, "Their Eyes were Watching God." I love the balance of shadows and light.
