I love the contours and contrasts. Very interesting to see this in b&w.

Location
I took this photo at Lower Antelope Canyon in Page, Arizona. Its one of the most beautiful places i've seen so far.Time
Its taken around the 1:00 pm - 2:00 pmLighting
So this place is all about lighting. The key factor here is that you need to click during the time when you can see lots of different colors (shades) when sun is hitting the rock formations.Equipment
I use my old Sony A390 with my favorite Tamron 11-16/2.8 wide angle lens . For this shot i did not use a flash at all because flash will wash out all the shades on the rocks.Inspiration
Actually i had seen this shot before (i've seen lots of colored versions) but no one tried in monochrome. So i really wanted to click this myself so i can do some experiments on it.Editing
I used Adobe Lightroom to process this picture. I always shoot in RAW so i can get the full control on the processing. The only thing i did was it to convert it to monochrome and i used Silver Efex Pro for this purpose. No doubt Silver Efex Pro is the best when it comes to monochrome conversion. In my camera bag
Sony A77 mark II Tokina 11-16/2.8 mm lens Tamron 90 mm prime lens Sigma 70-300 mm telephoto lens. A remote timer and some filters. Light weight travel tripodFeedback
The only advice i have is that always be prepared. You should know your camera very well because when shooting at this hour light changes very fast and you need to change your camera settings accordingly. For this particular shot lighting is everything. Try to click at the time when sun is hitting the rocks so you can get all those cool shades.
